17th c. German Poleaxe. Hand wrought steel crescent blade axe with spike. Steel plates surround the upper portion to secure the head and protect the hardwood shaft. Overall height 66 inches. Axe head 9 inches height by 11 inches wide. Shaft is 62 inches long.
